Was snooping around the Bay and found a TL-29 for a reasonable price, an old Ulster USA. The photos were pretty bad but the price was right so I picked it up.

It just arrived today and I'm glad I made that choice. The blade looks almost untouched and the screwdriver is in great condition (Just a little twist at the end). The handles seem to be some kind of Bakelite? They have reddish streaks and whirls through them.

The only thing a little disappointing is the screwdriver blade is so strong you'll just about break your thumbnail trying to open it. Any advice on how to loosen it up? I've given it my usual WD-40 and open/close treatment with no luck.

Here's a link to the album (On my phone so can't figure out how to post the pics here)

Open the screwdriver blade half way before you go to bed. Leave it in the halfway position over night. In the morning it should be a bit better. One of my Western folders was a complete nail breaker, this method helped it. Also, congrats on the TL! Try not to get too obsessed with them like I am now. At this moment I have at least seven, all, except for one, were obtained in the past month. It's a sickness for sure and there ain't no cure.

I'll try not to, I just couldn't pass up on the deal. It was $15 to my door for an american made TL-29!
