Greetings you all :)

I've always liked the look of those traditional slip joints
And since one hand openers are going to be forbidden over here, I dicided to try and leave my beloved spyderedged Spyderco's for what they are at the moment and try something different.

Sooooo, I ordered myself a Case Peanut with smooth G10 handle.

I wanted to try a small one first.

So do you think I made a good choice for my first traditional?

I think its a great choice. The g-10 handles are very durable, the tru sharp steel will never rust and the half stops provide a measure of safety when closing the knife. It is traditional and modern at the same time and I believe you will find that the peanut is more than enough knife 99% of the time.enjoy your new case xx.

You can't do much better than a peanut, other than a CV Peanut. The Case CV Peanut has a cult following for a reason.

You won't find me arguing with that choice!

If it works out for you, try a CV peanut next. By the way, what are the knife laws over there like? A peanut should go in under the radar won't it?

Well they are going to ban all "easy to open" knives. So that means all auto's and knives with thumbstuds/holes.
We are still allowed to own one hand openers, but not carry/use in public. So that excludes a lot of brands.
Ballisongs and automatics will be banned all together. So you can't even own them anymore.
The laws are not of force yet but will be next year :grumpy:

You made a great choice. I have really fallen for the peanut. And you might as well. Like others have said, it will do 99% of what you need a knife to do. Much more than one would think for a knife this size. As I am typing I have a peanut laying my fat gut as I recline in my recliner that I just opened my mail with. I will be carrying one today. Just like I have for the past week. I love it. I would really like to get a G10 nut. But I have to wait a while before I can buy anything.

No advising to evade the law, but you could maybe "legalize" some of your thumbstud knives by simply removing the studs. Most will 'pinch open', except some knives use the studs as blade stops also. Let us know if you try it.
