Hi all, it has arrived. My first traditional knife is a case mini trapper. Well I don't have any experience to go on to base the fit and finish I'll have to say that this is a quality knife with a few flaws that I'll be happy to carry and use for quite a long time. I am glad that I picked the mini trapper instead of the full size as it seems to be the perfect for fitting in my watch pocket and pairing up with my modern folder. The finish on the bone is OK it's kind of pink on the bottom and the sides which I don't like but we'll see if it was in a little bit I can live with it. There doesn't seem to be much in terms of gaps in between the springs and the covers. The blades are both off centered slightly however there is no blade rub I was not expecting much in terms of fit and finish out of this case given what I had heard. Jigging on the bone seems to go a little bit into the bolsters and the bolsters are actually pants down a little bit in these 3 spots I'm not sure if this is something that typically happens or its just a defect in the product either way I can live with it. The shield seems to fit perfectly in its place and there's no sign of glue which I'm very pleased with. Enjoy the eye candy.

I already have a GEC #92 northfield on its way that will prolly kick this out of my pocket but we will see :D

The mini trapper is an excellent pick for a first traditional. There is a way to darken bone but I don't remember how at the moment. It has something to do with tea...

Great little knife. Look forward to seeing the 92 as well.
Happy New Year and congrats.

Great choice. My Case Chestnut CV Mini Trapper is probably in my top 5 favorites for general daily carry. Great value too since it's one of their lower priced knives.
