This is the first true custom knife to enter my 'accumulation'. It's an Anza knife made with my ideas. Not being an experienced knife designer, I merely selected features from knives in Anza's standard lineup.

"Can you combine the handle design of this model, the blade shape of this model, and the size of this model, with a natural handle material?"
Anza's response? "Sure thing. It'll be ready in five days."
They also included a certificate signed by the makers and a sheet of photos showing the knife in various stages of production.

The handle is coa wood. The forehandle is black plastic, with a brass spacer. The blade length is 5-1/2" and the overall length is 10-1/4".

Thanks for looking. All comments are welcome.

Looks pretty cool:cool: ...do you have (or could you take) some pics both closer and with a simpler background?? The handle is sort of muddled by the grass.

Congratulations!:D

Someone would have to ask...

Sorry, no, I only took two pictures. The other was worse.

Here is the photo sheet sent by Anza:

I cropped and enlarged the original photo too.

Customs are many for your liking. I'll tell you what I think....
I hope your happy with it, it was made just for you.
Congrats, and more importantly, enjoy.

They charged $90, including a leather sheath.

If you're on a budget, Anza has standard models starting at $18. They also have pages of one-of-a-kind knives that are very inexpensive. You can also save a bit by using their laminated wood instead of natural materials.

Bob

@Bob W

next time i will order your way,

Very nice !
:D

Holy Cow, Custom Designed for $90 bucks. I've been looking at Anza's for some time, but haven't found a stock model of theirs that exactly fits my tastes. I may have to call them up sometime and get them to make me one.
Congrats, that's a sweet score.

Beautiful knife Bob.

I've been thiking about doing the same thing, have Anza do me up a custom of my own design, I think you just helped me make up my mind :), nowI just need to figure out what it'll be.

I own a few Anza knives, and have a few standard knives on order, they're highly underrated.

I bought my first Anza as a user when I started renovating my house, that was 13 years ago, I've beaten the  out of it, and it's still as nice as it was new.

Easy to sharpen and tough as a shop file, oh yeah, it is a shop file !!!

They have monthly drawings for a free knife out at their web site, I won in April :D

Considering the low price of their standard models, I wasn't too suprised by the $90. I was completely blown away by "No problem, it'll be ready in five days."

You won't be sorry.

Larry, if you're still around. I just got back a roll of film with a new photo of the Anza (same knife, new photo). I hope the blade outline is more clearly defined in this one:

Just got an Anza from a friends surplus store, he orders them for his store. I traded a few old knives of mine for it, I am pleased. Have not had a chance to test it or use it on a camping trip, does anyone have some experience with their abilities and testing it out?
