Hey all, I recently picked up my first true emerson. I got a southern grind bad monkey for my birthday in February, and have always loved the wave, and I finally got an emerson on the exchange! A cqc 14! I was looking for a sub 3" knife to carry at school, but my large hands don't like small handles, so the perfect solution! I love it already, and am sure I'll end up with more! I love the looks of the 8's! So happy to join this esteemed group!

Congrats and welcome!

But, I don't know about carry a knife to school tho.

I guess I should have explained... Much of my schooling is trade relayed, as I am going to be a shop teacher, and a sub 3" blade is allowed

Oh I see. Well, you will quickly find yourself need something more than 3", maybe with some recurve, you know! ;):D

Haha, I'm sure I'll get around to it, but I do have a zt 0200, recurve, and 4", so that can hold me out for a while :) but I'm sure I'll end up with many more Emersons, including a 7, and I'd love a tiger!

lol! Hey, man. You could be one-and-done.
Have fun but watch that wallet.

Trust me, I'm trying, but something about these Emersons just screams "buy me! You want to hold me!" Lol

Congrats Miguy--Emersons are great blades. A 7 is a right of passage, it's true... so too a Commander. Lately, I have been torn between my 15 and roadhouse... the roadhouse has been winning out! It's like a little katana in my pocket!

Congrats on the 14, Miguy.
I have a Commander, a 7, and a Tiger and love all three of them -- you can't go wrong. Just remember, if you have your eye on a Tiger, it's a limited run so you may want to act soon.
Again, welcome to the madness! :D

It is a sickness. My immune system was strong for the first one and it was catch and release. That was a CQC 7b. I never carried it, and it didn't do much for me. I probably should have given it a chance. It was quite awhile before I purchased a used Mini 15. That was it. I was infected with the Emerson bug. I'm only up to 6, but I'm constantly looking for another.
Glad to hear you like the 14. I've been looking at that one myself. My current carry is a Mini 7B. It has enough handle for my hand, and a small enough blade that my workers do not gasp when I whip it out, ha.

I'm loving thus 14 more and more! My thumb is sore, as I'm playing with it a lot, and the liner sticks awfully sometimes, but its really starting to smooth out! And its my first chisel ground edge, and I'm actually enjoying it! Its unique, and has many benefits

Just found a cqc-14 myself 2007 estate find black plain edge with back spacer. Really like the wave was a little sticky took apart cleaned and used some frog lube then penciled the blade where the lock bar hits with a number 2 pencil. The graphite makes it less sticky along with break in. Good luck on your 14 I know that mine is a keeper. Ed
