I have had a little Lincoln 110v wire welder for a while, but I hadn't even loaded rhe wire up until this week. Well, today, I welded together my first stack for damascus. I made a mess, but it worked and I even managed to weld on a rebar hanle. This will make life easier. No more bumming off my neighbor the body man.:D

Joe, I welded for a living for 10 years, here is the secret. Practice , practice , practice. You will get great results after some less than great results . Have fun with it enjoy the journey.

Patience, patience too...go slow,. It's also a bit like grinding in that you want to keep your elbows close to your body and make smooth passes.

I have a little Millermatic 135 at the shop and have with practice gotten decent welds. I get best results using solid wire and 75/25 shielding gas. Way too much splatter and just sucked trying to use the fluxcore wire.....

What wire are you using? Using fluxcore w/o gas, or solid with gas?

The wire that came with the welder. LOL It is the little Lincoln that doesn't have gas. I bought it at Hd strictly to weld up damascus billets.
