First - I want to thank Butch for the inspiration to learn dovetailing ... Thx !!

I made this one out of 1084 7.25" to learn dovetailing and peening. It's not the prettiest knife in the block
but I learned sooo much while doing it. While grinding, my wife asked me where all the pretty designs
on it went. (She was remembering the 2 damascus knives I finished) I explained it was different type
of steel. She still wanted to see designs on it. So... I tried my hand at acid etching the blade.
Learned alot there aswell.

Bolsters are 304SS, with purple heart handles. They are a little blocky but I went for the "wedge" look
for the handles on purpose. Gave this one to my chef for him to give a good beating at work. I hope
to get back some constructive criticisms.

Would love to hear so of yours as well. I have 4 more blanks already cut to complete a set. 8",7" boning, 6.25" and 4.5"
What areas would you say I need the most focus on. (The rest will NOT be acid etched. Just played with the first)
Sorry for the bad lighting, couldn't find good light in my kitchen

yes, there is a finger dimple on the bottom for my pinch cutting. I like to have a place for my middle finger to rest in while dicing.

Thanks for the comments and the help !!
