I picked up from the Valentine's day sale the 20 inch 33 ounce villager fit and finish Trisuli Ghaule Knife by Rajkumar and the 8 inch 3 ounce Bilton by Vim. Green leather sheath. Nepal spotted deer antler handle.

Next to my 9" blade BK9, and 6" blade BK2

I am 5'5. I grossly underestimated how huge the 20" kukri would be. Even the handle is a little uncomfortably large, but I've never been so humbled by a blade before. In my hands it looks more like a short sword, and came very sharp. I'm used to all my blades being tools, I don't often put a knife away to just be looked at, so I can't wait to see if I can use this.

I think my next pick up will have to be a more reasonably sized CAK or BAS.

As for the smaller knife, it came a little dull but I got it very sharp with some sandpaper in different grits without much effort. It's a beautiful little blade and both are almost as much art as they are tools. The smaller Bilton I see myself using as a neck knife whenever I go out camping now. It's very nice, and I'm very happy.

I can easily see myself picking up more of these blades, half collecting and half going "Hmmm well, which do I use today?"

I can easily see you picking up more of these blades too. Your hooked and the hook is set very deep. I know this to be true. After awhile you don't even notice the hook anymore, becomes almost normal.

Just have your bank card on hand when ever you log in. Therapy and counseling are futile, just don't even try to fight it, just kind of roll with it. (very carefully, these things are sharp).

Congrats on your first two blades.

I had a Bilton, sweet little blade but it had a minor cosmetic issue. I sent it back to auntie for replacement and enroute she posted a Trisuli Ghaule on DOD........so the Bilton got credited towards the Trisuli (wonderful blade).

Crap, guess I need to replace that Bilton!!!...see how the addiction twist your mind around to make your acquisitions seem justified and explainable?

Aww, I remember those two now, I was looking pretty hard at that Bilton too. It's a beauty, they both are.

The Trisuli is a spitting image of the rajkumar I got awhile back. I love it too.

Yeah, the weight doesn't bother me so much, it's the thickness of the handle, made for a guy who's clearly larger than I am. Honestly, I may be able to work with it, I haven't tried it yet. It's BEAUTIFUL though.

I dunno about every day bush work, as I'm no giant, but it would certainly go through a zombie, sure enough :)

Finally got a chance to spend a little field time outside and inside with my two new blades.
I was concerned that the 20" Trisuli Ghaule Knife by Rajkumar would be too big. After a little use, it has proven to be quite the tool. Rajkumar's work is amazing. I am pleased to say even though it's a little hefty for me to use all day - it's chopping and slicing ability is more than impressive. I used it to clear some dead wood, and to do a bit of chopping test on down trees. I did not buy it to needlessly abuse it, but I did want to at least know what it was capable of.

I am not the strongest guy in the world, far from it. The 2lb weight behind this blade sent it through 2" of dead wood in one chop and kept going, like it was nothing.
Through larger tree trunk (again, dead wood), it bit and chopped into the wood exceptionally. I was more than impressed.
It's a little too big to be my go to camping/hiking knife/hatchet, but it's definitely a work horse. The edge was not bothered a bit by the activity I put it through.
I cannot speak highly enough of Rajkumar's work. This blade is beautiful.

The smaller Bilton blade made by Vim I have put it's paces through in the kitchen. I used it to cut up some veggies, meats and other household chores, of which it was excellent in. It came a little on the dull side, so I sharpened it up with 600/800/1000/2000 grit sandpaper and now slices as well as my good kitchen knives (it's a little too thick to replace any). It's definitely my new neck knife for when I go hiking or camping. It's just such a beautifully made little blade. For any of those who haven't picked up one of the smaller blades for whatever reason... I suggest it. I almost see using it as much as a bigger knife.

I am very happy that I made these my first two purchases. I have a 15" BAS now on the way, which I am excited about. You guys are right, they are very addictive.
I've always loved the kukri design, they are such a versatile tool, so I am very happy to now own a couple. I now see what you guys all rave about :)

With a CAK you'll be ending up with another heavy one. Try an M43 next.

An M43, WWII (16.5" or 18") or BAS would probably made a good 3rd Khukri for you. They are normally much lighter and faster then the Chiruwa AK's. Though the 16.5" Chiruwa AK isn't to big.

By the way, lovely knives! I look forward to more pictures after you get the chance to use them. ;)
