My first two homemades !

Congratulations!

Not bad at all for a first set. Keep us posted on the progress.

Looking good, Tobse! Wish the text was in English, but I was surprised by how much of it I could figure out. Keep us posted on future projects.:)

Nice looking knives, Tobse. My computer didn't want me to see the large knife, but eventually let me see all the pictures. Had no problems seeing the neck knife pics.

I particularly like the neck knife. I'm curious about the minimalist use of the parachute cord on the handle. Does that little bit of cord improve the grip significantly?

You surprised me on the large knife. From the original drawing, I thought that there would be an exposed area of the tang, or a bolster at the butt of the handle. But not so. Did you change your mind while making the knife?

You're off to a good start. Keep it up!

Hi Tobse!

for all of you who can´t read german: the way he made his knives is very nicely explained!
Grüße
fria:)

Thanks for the kind words, everyone :D
@Bugs : Yes, the little bit of Paracord acts like a soft, flexible 'ridge' on both sides of the handle, together with the knot/fob at the end of the handle it aids drawing from the neck sheath - Like most good ideas, someone else had it first - I saw it on a small blade by Fred Perrin called 'Street surgeon', if I remember correctly. Currently, I'm thinking of adding slotted carbon fiber overlays to the neck knife handle.
I worked on the big knife first, and bought the piece of 12C27 it is made of with the intention of destroying it in order to learn from the mistakes I made- the choil wasn't planned for in the plywood prototype, and the finger groove didn't work out the way it should have, I should have added another hole for a steel rivet at the front of the handle etc. So, I did learn a lot :D

Take care,
Tobse !
