Hey Guys…

This year I was Honored to be asked by several of my previous Scouts who have grown up to Venture age, if I would be their Venture Adviser. This being my Favorite age group to Teach,, I Jumped at the Chance, Secretly Screaming from Inside : "YAH !!! Finally !!!!" .. I've waiting many years to get my own group...

What a Great Bunch of kids I have to admit...

Here’s the first outing that our newly formed Venture Company went out on…

Got an Eager group so that makes it Fun…

This is her first time ever, using sharpened implements of any kind outside of the house

Looks like a great time.
It is encoraging to see kids learning about the great outdoors.

That is awesome. I never pursued scouting beyond Webelos, but Boy Scouts always, always intrigued me. Purhcasing BSA books on camping and outdoor skills over the years have fueled my interest. Now I have a son, and maybe someday, he'll be a Scout.

Great stuff Eric. Nice to see kids that age taking such an active interest in the outdoors.

Looks like a great time for everyone! The kids all look like thier having a good time, and Rick is a great guy, wonderful teacher to have on any trip. I had forgotten you two were in the same neck of the woods up there.

Thanks for posting, very much enjoyed it.

A girlfriend that is willing to get out there and camp and play with knives? You gotta approve of that choice!

Looks like you guys had a good time. I can see why you like that age group, it seems at that age you can start treating them more like peers and less like kids you have to watch constantly.

cool pics Eric.. thanks for sharing... definitely looks everyone had a great time.. you even had the Rickster there too...:)

Eric.... Great group you have there. I'm glad to see them with a leader like you. These kids will learn more than most ever will. From eating meal worms, dressing squirrels and foraging for wild edibles to choosing clothing, knives and other camp gear.... you've got it covered. Good for you, not to lay down and car camp like soooo many do nowadays! I wish more Scout Leaders were like you, my friend. I will help when I can, bro!

I have been trying to get ahold of you about making me a sheath. Would you please email me?
