Hi guys,
Here's one I recently finished up.

This is AEB-L @ 62
handle is Dyed Cascara Buckthorne from BurlSource
Cherry Saya

I'm getting ready to ship this out to a well respected Bladeforums member to try out and let me how it runs.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for looking!

That's a great looking Kitchen Knife and you did a fine job.....I'm sure it'd be a pleasure to use in the kitchen and along with the saya makes a wonderful set to have. :)

Thanks Dudley! I appreciate that.

Great work, man. Looks like all the right dimensions, and perfect finish.

I trust a constructive & subjective opinion is welcome:
As one who uses Wa handles daily, yours looks a bit 'girthy' for the blade length. I expect the blade would feel more nimble of the handle were slimmed down some.

Thank you for the criticism, that very well may be true. I tapered it from rear to front to try to make it more comfortable, but not ever actually using or feeling a wa handle before, most of the dimensions were based on information I found online.

looks great Josh, nicely done.
I would also want a thinner flatter slab profile on the handle, it helps to orient the edge better, meaning you know where the edge is.
Also curious what your tester says about using a pinch grip (if he uses that) seems like the handle might be a tad too forward (too close to the heel)

regards
Harbeer

Thanks Harbeer. It feels good to me, but I don't know how much different it would be if I was using it every day.
Either way I had a real fun time making it and plan on doing more. I might put some scallops on the next one or taper the front to within 1/8" or so for a pinch grip.
