My First ZT!

I could not believe my ears when my wife said "Happy Birthday Honey, we didn't get you a present." I was ok with that because my present was supposed to be the 4 days in Ft. Walton, Fl. What she said next really shocked me and I almost drowned in the pool. "I decided you can buy any knife you want, up to five hundred dollars, because I know you hinted at it several times and I could not remember which one it was." Well it was a ZT 550 or a Spyderco Manix 2. I decided to only spend 200 because I really couldn't justify any more than that. So I ended up with 3 knives for my birthday. Kershaw Cryo, ZT 550, and a BK 14. I love this zt and know it will not be my last. I may have to get a custom scale for it. Hopefully I can upload this picture, if not just close your eyes and picture them! :)

got my first ZT, a 550, at blade show, i love this knife more and more every day. nice BK 14 too!
 
I just got my first zt 550 as well! Replaced my Horseman at that moment and it felt great in the pocket.
 
Thanks y'all. I love bk knives too. This 550 is the most rock solid folder I have had. I am still getting used to flipping the blade out with my thumb. I had kinda gotten lazy with the flipper style folders.

Sounds like the 0560 is your next step down the KAI rabbit hole!
 
I played with the 560 carbon fiber at St. Nicks Knife Factory and absolutely loved the feel and how smooth it was opening. Only thing is I wanted a edc and the 560 is a little on the big side for me. The 550 is kinda big too, but it just feels soooo right. I saw some of the new zts posted in the blade show thread and wow is all I can saw.

This is also a woman that used to ask me why I carried a knife all the time, and why did I have to buy more knives and how could I pay THAT much for a knife. Now she carries a knife and a multitool in her purse! She is awesome.
 
Excellent choices! I'm sold on that 550 design...definitely need to pick up some ZT's next tax season!

Btw, I never noticed how much the 550 and the Cryo look alike :eek:
 
Congrats on the 0550! I also picked one up this week and I love it too. Still breaking it in though, haha.
