For me, the experience couldn't have gone better. A few mistakes and goofs cropped up, but I was glad to have had them. What I know about knives has grown exponentially as has my respect for makers. The handles still need a bit of buffing, but enjoy.

Blade - Heat treated ATS-34, 600 grit satin finish
Handle - Black paper micarta bolster, dovetailed w/ stabilized CA buckeye burl.
Other - Devin Thomas Raindrop Damascus Inlay, one hidden pin under inlay, 3/16" ni-silver pin, 1/4" thong hole.
full flat grind.... and weeks of gratifying work.

Blade is just under 3", a little under 7" OAL.

Now I need a garage and a grinder.

Here's a picture that will actually show what the hell the knife looks like. :)

Nice. Buckeye burl sure does look great. The design looks like it would make a good utility knife and probably a decent skinner as well. That damascus inlay is a nice touch.

Great lookin' knife Nitin! I love the burl and your fit and finish looks outstanding, especially the inlay of the damascus circle in the bolster..very unique and original!

From looking at its' profile, it looks to me that it would be super comfortable in the hand too!

Super job! Thanks for sharing with us. ;)

Best,

Thanks everyone, I just wish I had the space to set up a shop of my own. This knife was done with the gracious teaching and support of a friend who is a part-time maker himself. He just opened up his shop and tools to me and taught me what he knows.

Dennis, I don't know why the pics wouldn't be working.

VERY nicely done! Hard to believe it was your first. Love the wood and the damascus inlay. That's a sweet little knife.

Now I can see them. Very nice. I can hardly believe they are your first. It appears that you have a natural talent. I hope you keep making knives.
