Hi guys.
It has arrived... My first... Hellrazor!
Hell of the blade! Killer!
Just got couple of questions.
Since there isn't any marks to ID the steel, am I right to assume that it is an INFI? What would you recommend as a sharpening device? Diamonds? Ceramics? Arkansas?

Thanks

It's INFI. That's all they were offered in.

As for sharpening I generally find success with a strop long before I need to sharpen.
When I do have to sharpen one I generally strop it on a ceramic rod. That realigns the edge. It's not very often I have found that I have to traditionally sharpen my INFI. Just realign the edge.

Most of the blades I use have the older assymetrical edge but I can't imagine it's much different for the newer blades. I know I've never had to sharpen my Heavy Duty. Just strop it and it's good. I don't chop with it though. That's left for my larger blades.

Hope this helps.

Congrats on the blade. Glad you're happy with it. Wait til you use it. You'll be even happier.

Congrats! That's an awesome blade you have. What color combo?

I've done well w/a Spyderco -- but many recommend strops...

Congrats Saf-t-cab!!!

Nice way to start. The Hellrazor is definately INFI.

I'd recommend a strop to keep the edge in shape. If you need to unroll the edge after heavy, prolonged use a smooth steel (or ceramic stick) will do the trick. You shouldn't need to use a diamond or Arkansas stone unless you really mangle the edge.
Of course, you can always ship it back to the Shop for a touchup. Only cost is shipping both ways; and, of course, not having your Hellrazor for a week or so.

You can do a search for strop and sharpening for additional info.

Nuke On!!!
