New to Chris Reeve Knives. I finally came to the place where I realized I had all kinds of pretty good knives, but could only carry one (or three) at a time, and decided that I would consolidate some of them into a few really nice knives that I could carry and enjoy …

So just as I started scoping out what kind of Sebenza I wanted to buy, a sweet little Classic shows up here on BF Exchange thread. And I wasn't ready ($$). So I pondered how I could work it out, and still a little sticker-shy I waited too long and it got snapped up. Of course then I really wanted it … so I went ahead and called 'seconds' thinking it was a done deal, and sure enough, original bidder had already paid. So I figure, must not have been meant to be, but the more I looked at the pics and the set up and all, the more I was thinking what a good opportunity I had missed.

And then the original buyer did what so many knife folks seem to do - he thought about the other guy, sent me an email and offered the knife to me in case I really had my heart set on it. How outstanding is that?! Once I told him it would be my first, he really wanted me to have it, and so I come to own my first Sebenza in a very special way indeed.

And that is why I feel compelled to give props to fewpop, the man who stepped aside so I could have this knife. Truly an outstanding gentleman and a credit to this community. Thank you again, my friend. I won't soon forget the gesture.

BTW the knife is amazing! I'm hoping it will be a constant companion for many years to come … and no, it definitely won't be my last - I'm bit.

Thanks so much for the kind words my friend. That is a beautiful Sebenza, and I couldn't be happier to have helped a new Sebenza owner into the fold, so to speak.

Now you should probably freeze your debit card in a block of ice so you can resist or inhibit the temptation to own every CRK knife made. :D

Funny thing is, I bought that exact same Sebenza back in July, and ended up letting the guy who asked for 2nds have it then also. So I've had the pleasure of assisting twice with that folder. Double the pleasure...double the fun!

As a long time Sebenzanista, I have had, and still have a bunch of CRK knives, don't really need anymore (but then who needs to need one to get another one;)), and it has been just as enjoyable to have assisted new owners with this knife as it has been to have un-boxed my own CRKs in the past.

I hope you enjoy that setup in good health for a long time amigo!

That would be me! I can certainly testify to fewpops goodnaturedness-at least with that particular sebenza. Something more alluring and he might not be so forgiving. :D

Great story and a great knife.

fewpop letting those two knives go was a fabulous act of kindness.

That's pretty cool! I've stepped aside twice, once was on a Seb. Never been that lucky when I missed, though. Congrats on a beauty!

Something you care to share? :D;)

Most knife folks are pretty decent people. That said, CRK folks seem to be a really welcoming, amiable bunch that are a "cut" above the rest. Good deal on the Classic and kudos to fewpop.

Great story, congrats on a very nice first CRK.

Seems that fewpop deserves a nice thread over in the gb&u.
