That's an interesting knife with a lot of character

Wow, very rustic!:-) Thanks, I enjoy your photos very much.
I think the 2nd picture got inverted, it has no shield so Im guessing that is not the mark side as shown.
I notice in the last pic that the mark side scale is twice as thick as the pile side.
Everything about that knife is irregular, even the pins are different heights, and theres a lot of them.
Is that construction traditional, or just the makers rendition of a primitive style?

Beautiful knife ! Raw as ever. Looks like a real oldie. I actually like the bold pins with all hammer marks. Good old feeling of strength and reliability (and you can re-adjust the assembly anytime if needed. Good.).

Really nice looking knife. Great execution of a Scagel like design. Rough yet refined.

IIRC the scagel classic pocket knife has a 5 pin design, not 6 and steel liners not brass. I like the design a little more like the original, with the 5 pins and centered shield. Look for Jerry Van Eizenga's little book on how to make the classic scagel knife. He has plans and instructions.

I like very much french scagelike folder, has some Flintstones charm.

very pretty and strange knife. Will all those pins get caught when you put that in your jeans pocket?

It's very original, and interesting it's own right. I too like the pins, they add a good bit of personality.

Artistic freedom is good...but, to me, minimalism is best expressed with 5 or even less :)
