So after lots of searching for the best deals i ended up picking up an izula, izula scales and a esse 3 (no sheath) for around $103 shipped (yay) and i must say i absolutely love them.

how ever i do have two questions i noted that my izula is the signature edition. is this collectable or anything or can use the heck out of it and not worry about it?

Next is i need a sheath for the the 3. i do want to edc this knife at times so i was wondering if i should just get the basic seath form esee or have a kydex one made ?

p.s rit blue denim dye + izula scales = awesome !

I just became a first time ESEE owner yesterday, an ESEE 4 CP. Can't answer the question about the signature model, but as far as the standard ESEE sheath, just check some of the big online stores as they usually have the sheaths for sale. I don't do a lot of fixed blades but the standard sheath seems to be very well made and can be set up with vertical or horizontal carry. You might look over at knivesshipfree for some sheaths as they have nice leather sheaths for a variety of knives, along with Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop (CRKS) who have a variety of kydex sheaths.

Signature Izulas are still F/S on some dealer sites at nearly the same price as the standard Izulas, so I don't think there's much collector value to them at this point unless you're just an ESEE collector. As far as the 3 goes, your EDC carry style will likely determine the kind of sheath you want. If you want to pocket carry the 3 like some do, you'll probably want to check into one of the leather pocket sheaths on the market or find a sheath maker on BF to create one for you. If you carry attached to something, then the factory sheath has a lot of different options. If you really like Kydex, there are quite a few kydex sheath makers here on BF that regularly work with ESEE knife models.

yeah i got my izula for 35ish and the scales where on sale for 5 so i feel like a good a awesome deal there =) i plan on carrying the 3 horizontal on the belt, and sometimes attached to a back pack strap. I'm thinking the stranded sheath with the boot clip and some para cord will do just fine thanks guys

The standard sheath with the boot clip works very well, for horizontal on the belt paracord works great. The 3 is one of my favorite knives.
