I have been busy with the Frontier line of knives and would like to share my photos with the forum. For a start here they are in a box.

Fantastic bunch of Frontiers Ed! I like the flat grind on the large folders for a change (4815 Double Eagle and P-IV). More geared towards general food prep if I'm backpacking with only one knife. I have a tougher time slicing things evenly (salami etc) with the sabre-ground, hollow-grind Schrades.

My P-IV has the best straight-from-factory walk and talk of all my five inch folders. Loose enough to be opened with one hand but locks dead-tight.

I really like the Frontiers! They stack up to Schrades no problem imho

You are one real dedicated Frontier collector Ed...I dont believe I have ever seen 32 Frontiers <plus the Belt Buckle> in one photograph before...well done!..Hoo Roo

The Frontiers are my "try to find knife" right now. I enjoy buying them and cleaning them up.

Larry, I will have to admit that one knife isn't a Frontier (find it). I never thought of the belt buckle until it was mentioned because of a post I did a few months ago.

Dave, the "P" series is a bunch of good looking knives. The sheath next to the P-IV is in good shape. Shows carry use but the knife didn't show any use.

The yellow Delrin and the stag ones seem to be the hardest to find on the bay.

On Larry's site there is a list of dates of manufacture of the knives and the yellow ones were only made in 1976 and 1977.

Thanks to all for looking. And I hope this thread doesn't raise the price of the Frontiers.

You should hope it does raise the prices Ed..you own most of the Frontiers in captivity......I have the belt buckle as well...
The one you refer to hiding out amongst his cousins?.....the four pin LB7 hiding just below the Frontier box....I couldnt quite make out its serial number however....LOL.....nice collection...

Sorry Larry, it is the four inch lock back that is all wood. Five down on the left, it is a Imperial Backpacker. No LB7's in that bunch.

That's a nice collection and display of Frontiers ! I've been collecting these for the last year or so and they do seem to be getting more popular (pricier). I agree that the Sundown Yellow and Powderhorn Stag are more difficult to find while the Ole Ivory and Gunpowder Black seem to be more abundant in supply. Wish I knew how to include pictures as I'd share a few images of some of my 46s and a fun display I picked up a while ago. Happy hunting!

Sal, to post pictures, first the pictures have to be on an online site, then copy the picture URL between
. There are a lot of online picture sites for free, I use Multiply but I seem to be the only one. Most folks use Photobucket.com.
