Hi Gang. A friend just drew a sketch of a CQC7 with an Hissatsu blade.:eek: It looks so Bad, BAD!!
Ernest, please think about adding a Hissatsu folder to your line-up.
Thanks.
Rolf

LOL, keep on hoping old chap !

I'll take an EKI spec. Texas toothpic while were at it. :D:thumbup:

How about http://www.emersonknives.com/ekGentlemanJim.php ? Not too far off & I love that knife.

As far as Lycosa with justonemore crazy idea:
I think the Hissatsu blade would fit in with the Emerson style real well.

I do like the Gent. Jim, the full dress knife is a bit of heart stopper. I would love a sub 3" slip joint made in the Ernie custom style with Ti and micarta.:thumbup:

I often carry a Texas tooth pic when I'm back home in Scotland, it's probably my favorite slip joint pattern......as Rolf says, we can dream. :D

I've got a wicked idea for a custom Persian-job that I'm going to send over to Reese. I'll do a mock drawing of it and, if time permits, I may even create a 3D render of it in Maya or 3D Studio Max.

It's going to include all of the things I think the Persian needs to really compete with more recent EKI designs: a wave opener, a frame lock (or at least an extra-thick titanium liner lock with matching bolsters and carbon fibre scales). I'll post it here when I've got the design finished.

Good move Gabe.
I spoke with Reese today. He was working on my CQC7 FFG blade. :D

You b------ !!!

You stole my thought!

I just replaced my EDC Hissatsu folder with a CQC-13

Awesome. We'd love to see what Reese has for you, so be sure to post pics when it gets in.

I'll probably give Reese a call today now that he's back from Blade. He's a busy guy. In the meantime, I'm going to take up some DIY work in my upcoming spare time and begin modding my first tomahawk.

Oh man, I had the best conversation with Reese today, and I usually hate talking on the telephone.

It was my first time calling him, but he spoke like we'd known each other for a long time. A very friendly person, and passionate about what he does. I can't wait to get to work on this knife design!

IIRC, Reese won't cut a wave into the blade. When I had him do up a (same proportion, but compound chisel grind) Ti blade for my leftover factory Super CQC7 handle, I asked him to wave it just like the factory blade... got a no-go. He did however cut the thumbramp to Emerson spec so I could cut the wave myself.

In retrospect, I should have cut the wave first before torching the Ti.

IIRC, I paid $275 for the framelock conversion and another $100 for the Ti blade.

One more knife from Reese... Nate3993 ordered a more stout version of the Horseman with a locking Ti slab and an integral CF scale/spacer with a CPM3V blade. Reese calls it his Hybrid and it's marked RW PROTO. I traded Nate a DDR TG with IKBS and now its mine!

Since this is a proto, I'm not doing anything to it.

You can just buff the Ti blade back to satin and re-colour it. I have done that on Ti pry bars a few times. I go through stages of liking one finish over another, one week it's tumbled the next it's oxide blue, the next again it's bead blasted, then back to tumbled .................... :p:thumbup:

Gabe--- good to hear! Keep us posted! ;)
CM--- Cool blades!
