Today I want to walk whit my new GEC Missouri Trapper (thanks a lot to Waynorth, you rock my friend)

Here the specs of this knife from GEC

The knife closed

The Missouri Trapper has two blades, one of them is a clip point, the other one is a straight back

The internal liners

Great fit and finish. The springs in this knife are really strong, I’m not saying that they are nailbrakers, but for sure need some effort to open the blades, and I like it

One of the things that I like about this knife, is that the blades are deadly centered

Some light works

Now, in the woods

Need a walking stick

It’s mushrooms time

The top of the hill

A couple of buzzards is flying in the sky

A hollow tree

The Missouri Trapper in hand

Some edible mushrooms…

…and, of course, my GEC is helping me, again

Ah, what a beautiful day

Conclusions: the Missouri Trapper is a very good knife, as all the GEC I had the chance to handle and own. Great fit and finish, great cutting efficiency, no blade play at all both vertical and horizontal, very good springs, beautiful handle, blades deadly centered. I didn’t like the large writing on the blades, but it’s just me, some others may love them of course. The handle is not really comfortable on the prolonged works, having one of the blade (the closed one) in the palm, but this is what you need to pay for two blades. It’s a knife that I love to have whit me, also on EDC base.
Ciao,

Alfredo,

Thanks for the beautiful pictorial essay. In a couple of the pics it looked like you were in a "walking stick" forest. I can't remember the last time I saw that many tall, straight saplings. Beautiful countryside!

Cheers!

Currahee!

Thank you Alfredo, for this nice and great thread. :)

I´ve already eyeing with this knife - but this time it wasn´t on order. Maybe next time. Is that copperhead jigged bone? Looks pretty good.

Great looking country over there on the other side of the alps. Great looking enviroment!

Have a nice weekend!

Thanks for sharing.

GEC sure does that pattern right. The color on those bone scales you have look way better than the the factory pictures.

Looks like a great walk!

Thanks for sharing, the country side you live in looks beautiful. Just wanted to point out that the writing on the blade will vanish once the knife earns a patina. My well used GECs have no sign of text :)

Alfredo,

I always enjoy your write-ups and pictorials; this may be my favorite so far.

What stunning bone, photographed well.

Having recently searched for saplings of my own for walking sticks, I am jealous of your straight, relatively limbless find! What kind of tree is this?

Thanks again for the post. :)

Glad you like that knife, Alfredo! It was hand-picked from a batch of knives!!
Your pictures are breathtaking! Thanks for "bringing us along"!

Totally enjoyed your pictorial hike through the wonderland! Thanks Alfredo and the knife is sweet!

I really enjoyed the write up! I also enjoyed the pics. Well done.
I'm also impressed with how you hollowed out that tree. :D

Is that a Boletus Mushroom, Alfredo??
Seems similar to some I have eaten, but many years ago - very delicious as I recall!

Yes Charlie, is a Boletus (in italian: "porcino"): it's delicious, really! If bigger than mine, you may cook it like a steak, whit some garlic and olive oil. If is small, the Boletus is great cooked whit rise or pasta. Yuhhhmm! :-)
