This thing is outstanding. Firm, but not too firm spring. Great snap to it. Perfect fit and finish. A decent edge that was easily touched up to be hair popping sharp. Great finish on the slabs.

I'm a happy camper. This is WAY more my style. This may be the end of my tactical knife days.

I love to say "I told you so!" Congrats, and enjoy! That's one heckuva knife you have there.

That is a fine looking knife. I also am seeing a return to the more traditional knives. Tactical black just doesn't have the appeal it once did. My bone handled trapper and my yellow sodbuster have class and they don't have that higher price tag.

I got the same knife with red micarta scales and as you said it's as perfect a knife as I have ever wanted!!! Nice looker "Noshtero" I have a stag coming in the mail.

Those are both gorgeous knives. I am also really being drawn to designs and quality that look like they were made during WWII. In this country.

Congrats on your new knife. I love traditional slip joints and that little beauty definately has some class!

What a great knife. It fits perfectly in my watch pocket. It's just short enough to tuck under one of the rivets. Don't even notice it's there.

One fault..... the name. My buddy pronounces it "titty out" and keeps telling me to "whip my titty out" when he needs something cut.

Nice looking scales on that one. I have a single-bladed Scout in burnt stag. It looks fantastic, and it works really hard. I took the bevel down to 12-13 degrees, and put a slight 15-degree back bevel on it with the Sharpmaker. It really doesn't shy away from hard work, yet it touches up with little effort at all. GEC makes fantastic knives with fantastic heat treats. Congrats on your new Scout.

That's a nice lookin knife. When I was growing up my uncle had a camp on the Allegheny River near Tidioute. There was a whole lotta giggling goin on everytime we were on our way to camp!

Tidi always came out as titty. Oute is like jute witout the j.

Now you're in trouble. Next time you go shopping for jeans the first thing you'll be checking will be the watch pocket to make sure a traditional folder will carry well there. If it won't...NO SALE!

Nice thing about coming over to the dark side is all the pretty colors & material the scales come in.

Edit: Some consider us "folksy" traditional types the "Dark side." Others just consider us cranky ol' reprobates and dinosaurs. :D

I don't even miss my tacticals. I pulled one out the other day to take to work to show one of the students who wondered what I carried in Afghanistan, and ... it was a yawn. I'll never get rid of it, but I really prefer carrying the stuff I grew up with.

Look in the black pouch on my duty belt, tucked between my speed loader pouches and my pepper spray, and you will find a SAK Tinker. I work armed security and several other officers have modern designs on their belts. (Interestingly, .357 mag revolvers are as prevalant as tupperware pistols are.) I've found the tactcals just don't peel & cut my apples like my SAK does.:p

Ha-Ha! This is the true sign of the knife knut - buying clothes based on how well it wil carry your edc knives! I try not to buy pants without functional watch pockets anymore. My peanut gives me no trouble, but if I am a good boy, Santa will be bringing a GEC #25 Barlow . . .
