Well, I've made a vow, I guess not a real strong vow, well, yeah, I'll probably break it but for now, I made a vow that I'm done getting folders, happy with the current family of steel I have...in looking back at some of my GEC's I've had some very nice ones I will always remember fondly, and my latest bundle of joy should keep me smiling for some time. Here are some images of past and present GEC folders I've owned or have;

VERY nice 23, stag is to die for, amazing...also added a nice braided leather fob and custom bead, the bead is half ebony and half mammoth ivory

haha well, unless Acrylic is some distant relative of a deer, then, maybe not so much ;)

And I may have missed one or two photos of past collection, but, it's pretty close...

I really lie the micarta 79. It looked a bit different when you showed it to me. :D
I want to find one like it.

Nice stag collection. I was looking through my Dropbox today and found a lot of my old "for sale" photos. Amazing how many knives come and go.

That is a fine selection of patterns, Gary! I'm a stag fan myself, but I especially like the ivory 79... sweeeet!

Thanks guys and welcome to the Green side Barry!

The ivory is very special, definitely a prize

Nice collection. Are those grooves black, or is it an optical illusion? They look black. I like it. How do you do it?

Thanks, they are darkened grooves, they usually will lighten with wear, (sounds like a saying on the old British comedy show 'Are you being served' :) )

And the photo was shot with the knife on a light box, the kind used to view slides. I put a piece of paper on there and held a sheet of paper to reflect light back onto the knife. Very minimal setup.

edited to add that in the past I've taken a permanent black magic marker and 'painted' down in the grooves to give them more definition, the marker wipes off the top surface easily but stays in the grooves for a little while at least.

Nice looking bunch of knives, past and present. I'm also trying to get down to the "all I need is these few and no more" stage. Not seeming to have much luck with it! :)

Thanks again guys, these are just the GEC's, I've bought and parted with more knives than I like to mention, made many people happy over the years ;) but it's all in the getting sometimes!
My collection is mostly traditional now, with a few Newer stuff, but I'm fairly happy with this batch right now.
