Thanks for the pictures, but please tell us about this wonderful knife. What materials are used? Whay about the blade and overall size? Does it work as good as it looks?

I bet you that knife is hair poping sharp too, Right Jerry? I have one of Gene's folders also, and it came to me like a razor. A very solid knife!

I have 2 of Gene's CenterCross folders. A scale release and a lockback. Both are great knives from a genuine nice guy.

I have four(actually it is five but one is only on loan) of Gene's autos. I love them all. They have a great snap to them and the lock up is great. Gene and Pat are also great to work with.
The 5th knife that I bought was one that he had on his website. When I got it, it was just alittle too small for me. So I asked Gene if I could return it. He said no problem but he felt bad because he thought that there was a problem with the knife, when in fact it was really me. He said that he would make a knife to fit my needs. And in the mean time, he let me hold onto the other knife. He did not have to do that, he could have just said that he would start work on my knife when I returned the other one.
Gene is just a great guy and I will most likely end up ordering that video he made.

Just my experiences with Gene and Pat.

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Sorry I didn't post this sooner...

Scale release operates by slightly moving one side of the handle, at the rear of the knife, causing the locking arm to disengage and release the blade. It is a one-handed lockback design that can be made to manual or automatic specifications for right or left handed use.

Golly. If it weren't for the 2 posts above this, I'd have been sure I'd finally left reality behind. It is especially confusing to someone like me who takes too many meds when Mitch posts a little brother pic that looks nothing like the Gene Onion knife. I worried I was the only one who say the difference. Whew!

Time for my meds!

Ok so it is not one of those Gene Onion collabs, but here is a pic of one of Gene's knives. I am carrying it today for the first time.

tom,
don't know how that happened..i guess it's due to the high fever and chills i have acquired from drinking the ocean water, while waiting for my "chubby t" to arrive via the intercoastal waterway..you are sending it via boat correct? : )
