I was looking through a thread dedicated to 73s just hoping to see one of my grail knives pictured. I had looked through it before, but this time I saw it. There it was the Tidioute 735109 in Bocote wood.

I preserve, collect, not for monetary investments, but for my own reasons. One of those reasons is to connect an heirloom to an important day in my history. The 73 pictured below has the production date of when my wife and I started dating. It began when my wife and I did. To me, that is what makes it a grail.

I took a chance and wrote the owner of my grail hoping not to offend, and offered to trade, or pay for it. Surprisingly, the owner wrote back stating he had seen my signature and had meant to contact me. My jaw hit the floor.

We worked out a trade and she, my grail, was on her way across the Atlantic.

I came home today to find a box sitting on the table. I felt like a school kid on Christmas who had got coal for the last two years. All I can state now is a heartfelt and deeply appreciative "thank you" to Rupert.

Thank you sir for a great day and this beauty.

That's a nice knife. Much too nice for the wife. Keep it for yourself and get the wife a flower or a candy bar. The shield is especially striking - really sets off the Bocote Wood covers.

That's a good looking knife! Congrats on finding something that means so much to you and your wife.
And kudos to the original owner for making it happen.
