Hey BladeForums Family,

So some of you Hogs may remember almost 1 1/2 years ago I proposed to the love of my life when she least expected it and after years being together. What you all don't know --- is that for a long while my fiancé (girlfriend at the time) and I had MANY arguments over my Knife "Passion" and the noticeable dent it would often inflict on my bank account. The issue for my baby doll was that she was worried that I would neglect distributing funds towards committing to her ;)

Little did she know --- I was secretly and feverishly saving and searching for the deal of the century on her Engagement Ring. So when I finally saved enough and found the PERFECT ring for my budget, I took her on a special trip to Key West, Florida. I convinced (More Like Fooled) her into thinking that Marriage would have to wait because I spent all my money on the trip. She was bummed --- but grateful that we could experience such a great vacation getaway. So then I took her out for a special evening of wine and cheese aboard a humble sail boat ride. When the Sun was setting, I got down on one knee and blew her away with something much nicer than she was expecting. :) ----- She said yes . . .

So after the joyful tears and congratulatory wishes from friends and family (BladeForums included), we returned back home to Los Angeles. When we arrived home, my Grail Knife had arrived and was patiently waiting for me. It was a Custom Shop Satin Fat ASH-1 with Hand Shaped Black/Tan G10 and Blue Liners. It was truly magnificent. My fiancé grabbed my face and said, "Babe I won't ever doubt you again. If these knives truly make you happy, then they make me happy". I knew I had picked the PERFECT woman to share the rest of my life with.

We're now months away from our wedding (I know I know --- long engagement). So naturally it was finally time to put a special edge --- on a special knife that arrived during one of the most special periods of my life. Sorry for blabbing on --- but I just had to share ;)

Without further ado . . . My special piece of INFI

Congrats!! X2
That's Beautiful.

Gotta ask, what did you use to get that amazing edge?

Nice. Sharp enough to cut the cake and wide enough to serve the cake:D

Rockin! Congrats Rob!!!!

Thanks guys!!! I feel blessed to have beautiful things in my life -- and yes that certainly includes my knives ;)

For any inquiring minds --- the blade has been re profiled, shoulders slightly thinned, and the edge optimized to 19 degrees per side with the following grit progression on the Wicked Edge Field & Sport Pro model with several accessories:

Diamond Stones: 100,200,400,600,800,1000
Ceramic Stones: 1200, 1600, 1.4 micron, .6 micron
Balsa Wood Strops + Paste: 5 micron, 3.5 micron, 1 micron, and .5 micron

It passes the hanging hair test from heel to tip. It's sharp ;)

Super sick blade and especially cool to relate the arrival with such a milestone life event. Life is grand, beautiful blade bro.

Thanks man!! I couldn't have lined up my Grail Knife with this special moment in my life any better if I tried! Truly blessed to have such great people in my life --- That includes you all too!!!! ;)

I can't even lie, I would have one hell of hard time using that knife in all its beautiful glory. Embarrassing I know but true.

Beautiful blade sir, hang on to her tight. A good woman is damn near impossible to find, trust me.

Nothing to be embarrassed about at all!! I go through that same reluctance every time I'm about to use a newly arrived Satin blade ---- what got me over the reluctance is the knowledge that at any time I can bring back the Satin Finish or go to an even higher polish by hand sanding/polishing the blade. Good as new!

That is special. Congratz man...
