Dear All,

In 1940 my grandad worked for Wilkinson Sword and developed the first pattern Fairbairn Sykes knife (Charlie Rose) ... it's in my blood.

In 1990 I was lucky enough to get a job in the British knife industry, and today, I am proud to uphold the UK end of the knife deal. It may be small potatoes compared to you guys in the US, and I conceed that today you lead the world when it comes to high quality cutlery (I've been to enough US knife shows to work this out for myself).

But it was more than 60 years later that I found my heritage ... to my surprise aswell as my mother's.

Today the BKCG (British Knife Collectors Guild) promotes the safe use and personal collection of fine sporting knives in the UK and in 19 countries throughout Europe.

Today, we in Great Britain look to all you US knife collectors to set standards in what is a tightly knit market.

It's good to feel I'm in such world-class company.

Thanks for all the replies to my earlier posting, we'll be in touch.

All the best ...

Mike Harrison
