Both of my Grandpas have passed away, but were and still are super special to me. Those gifts will last a lifetime, and have more meaning to you than anyone else. When mine gave me something special, they admonished me to be sure to use the gift.

Thanks for sharing. Brings back great memories.

A gift that I am sure you will always treasure. They look preety good to me. Are both handles a celluloid of some kind?

thank you guys for all the kind responses. Yes, they will always be special to me...

As far as a response to the question above, yes, I believe they are both some type of celulide(sp?) he also has made me a beautiful 4in. skinner with some type of horn or bone or something that he said was illegal to posess here in the states... That one has been a user for me, so the pictures won't do it justice.

Thanks again gents!

A very kind and thoughtful grandfather - and a nice pair of knives.

IMO, anytime a gift is made by the giver it's all the more special.
I'm sure you will treasure those for a lifetime and after they will be passed on to other members of the family.
Thanks for sharing.

Really very touching! Super nice knives! You must feel very proud.
My grandpa taught me to use and respect knives from when I was 5.

These can be passed down for generations. The file work work on the second knife looks interesting. Great gift!
