So I was at work today at the restaurant and my Uncle Fred came in while we were talking a customer came in with a ham to be cooked. We tag them with a little metal tag tied to the hock with butchers twine. So I'm tagging the ham reach into my watch pocket and get out my tiny trapper to cut the string and Fred sees it and says that's a good looking little knife. We finished talking, had some lunch and he left. About an hour later he came back in and handed me this and said it used to be Pappy's and since he never carried it that I should have it. It being a 1940-64 Case 2229 1/2 So here it is next to a couple modern Tiny Trappers. Fred said my Grandmother had one too with red bone covers. So now I'm looking for one with red bone to give to my wife.

It's always nice when a traditional knife comes into your hands from your family history. That's how it's supposed to be. :)

Very beautiful knife Paul. Are those ebony scales? That one should fit real nice in the pocket :)

That is a beautiful knife! Great to have something from your grandfather too. I remember my grandfather cutting apples on the front porch with his penknife, good memories... :)

Great looking knife! How nice of him to bring you back such a wonderful gift. I keep an eye out for the a red bone one.

Very nice Paul, a family of Tiny Trappers!
