My Great Grandpa's old Solingen Germany Knife

I found this old knife when we were cleaning out my great grandparents house after we moved them in to assisted living. It says on one side Solingen Germany and the other Sabre Monarch. Im looking to get some information about this old knife any information would be great.

Some quick Google-ing indicates a relation to early KA-BAR knives, however I'll say that you'll receive much more help if you provide pictures, or at the very least a much more detailed description; pictures are better.

Nice looking old knife, looks like a very typical German made import hunting knife.
I'll bet the steel is great.

It may not be super old if the steel is stainless as it appears to be though

Very nice; I used to have one much like it as a kid. Took a fabulous edge, probably something like 1095. Lost it somewhere, alas...
