Thanks to the guys at Survive! Knives for making sure I had this before my trip. It's very appreciated and my initial impressions are quite good.

Order sheet was 20CV, green canvas micarta, black screws and spring FDE sheath.

As a former machinist, I tend to look things over with a Mark I Eyeball. Outside from some uneven bead blasting under the handles, I can't find any major flaws with the blade itself that would indicate it's a second quality. The grind is even, the pommel and jimping serrations are all even and unchipped, the tip is perfect and the spine is square. There are no divots or marks on the steel. I didn't count the number of stars in the laser engraved flag though, so that could be the discrepancy! :P

And since it didn't happen without pics, here you go. I didn't feel like dragging out all the photo lights and gear, so some quick shots will have to do.

Woohoo !! Mine also came today, along with one for a buddy I just dropped off and two factory 2nd n-2's!!! On the rd now to the camp site

Eyes on the road, redwood!

Awesome you got your blade, Nosferatu! Pretty dang sweet, isn't it!

Got my GSO 5.1 2nd today as well, guess we're all going to have a good weekend!

Nice knife, lighter then expected, will have to use it some tomorrow to see how I like it.

According to USPS tracking I'm going to have a 5.1 3V second and a Busse BG SFNO waiting for me at the post office in the morning. (Morning is a relative term for me). Now if the smoking hot clerk is just working and the one I pick them up from, it may be a fantabulous Monday.

Haha! If I was picking up any new toy or especially a GSO I wouldn't care if the clerk looked like Sloth from the Goonies. Now if she happened to look like Emma Watson, that would be icing on the cake ;)

No drinking then chopping allowed, but I feel like I hit the jackpot. I've had half a dozen GSO's and I love the contouring of the handles. Feels like the palm swell is much more pronounced.

Best "bang for your buck" at its price point imo. I like to think of Evan Williams as a Becker, Evan Williams Single Barrel as an ESEE, and Maker's Mark as a GSO or SR-101 BUSSE/kin. I could've went after plenty of other knives for that money, but this gave me all I want.

$15 a bottle, beats the snot out of all the other bottom/2nd shelf bourbons. IMO.
