Thanks to the guys at Survive! Knives for making sure I had this before my trip. It's very appreciated and my initial impressions are quite good.
Order sheet was 20CV, green canvas micarta, black screws and spring FDE sheath.
As a former machinist, I tend to look things over with a Mark I Eyeball. Outside from some uneven bead blasting under the handles, I can't find any major flaws with the blade itself that would indicate it's a second quality. The grind is even, the pommel and jimping serrations are all even and unchipped, the tip is perfect and the spine is square. There are no divots or marks on the steel. I didn't count the number of stars in the laser engraved flag though, so that could be the discrepancy!
And since it didn't happen without pics, here you go. I didn't feel like dragging out all the photo lights and gear, so some quick shots will have to do.
This is who it will be spending most it's life out in the woods with, I Para Expert setup for 450 SMC.
