Hey all, tonight I was finally able to catch a local gun show that occurs every few months. I don't have my papers yet so I was mostly looking for knives. There was alot of flea market junk but also some quality vintage knives. I ended up picking up a Buck .110.. with its original sheath and 0 blade play for $15 Canadian. I had never handled one with the squared handles before. Once my Christmas bills are paid I'm going to snag a 1986 Buckmaster off him. I was really tempted to take it tonight but went with a few other vintage knives instead. Cheers.

I can't find those for that price in my state. Those are normally around $35 or more and if its in good shape I pay it. For I won't find any others. DM

I'll be sure to post pics once work settles and I have time to polish her up. In the mean time, does anyone have any opinions on the '86 184? Feel free to PM me if anyone knows an approximate value for a user with its original sheath. Take care and stay tuned.

That's a nice one. I love those older non radiused edges. Blade looks like its in good shape. I'm like DM, if I run into any of the dots in close to new condition for $30 or under I usually buy it. Good find.

Nice snag on that 110 Lindey.I like the way the old slabs feal in the hand.

well i have used the 184 and the 124... and a 120..
each has things they are best for,.,,
survival - yep the 184 hands down..!!!!

camp knife the 124 is wonderful if weight is not an issue...
it is much better then the 184 for camp use!!!

if weight is one issue then the 120 or the 119..
either can be a good camp or hunting knife..

i sold the 184 i had and put my user 124 in the collection
i would take a 120 to use...
for hunting the kilanga or its smaller brother..
for personal defense most any of the night hawks..
or the 110..

remember no knife can be the perfict knife
for every use or every one..
did i leave out any thing?

Dave, I echo this sentiment. For it comes back
to my thinking time and again. What I like and have found
works not many others agree.Which is fine.DM

Thanks!
I've had my eye on the 184's fo a long time mostly for the collectibility. I've been keeping an eye out for all 3 of those knives though. A close friend of the family who passed away had a 124. That was oneof the most impressive knives I had ever seen. He was one of my first pro knife influences. He also played a key part in gettig me my first Buck, a 119 when I earned my Chief Scout Award (Canadian version of Eagle Scout). Thanks again and take care.
