Been carrying this for a while now. It rides on my belt at about 3 o'clock.
I really can't say enough good about it. Great blade. It sees a lot of use, but still looks like new.

I pair it with a SAK alox farmer.

The lanyard is about 12' of para-cord. There is a small washer on the end that I found. It fits the screws in the handle perfectly.

There is still room for a small misch metal rod in there. I will add that soon, along with a small firestraw.

I am amazed at the edge that the blade takes. It slices really well for the thick little blade.
The blade shape could not fit my purposes better. Lots of belly and the perfect size.

Still waiting on pictures of the folder version. Excited about that one.

i love my HEST, great pics. Um HEST folder..........wow.....when......want....cant feel legs....:)

Nice set up.

I really like the HEST Blade too...tough and stout and still slices great, great belly but great tip too.

Love my HEST also, it has become my EDC, and sees regular use. It is also quite a conversation starter when I pull it out to open my beer!

Great pics, I really like the washer in the lanyard to access the storage area built into the handle neat idea. A folding HEST sounds interesting.

I agree with this statement (both the EDC and the beer opening). But back to the post, nice pictures and a great setup. I really like your lanyard. I like the way you use both holes to put the paracord through. I may have to try that. I have similiar stuff in my handle plus a mini firesteel and a small candle.

Thanks everyone! I am quite fond of this blade, and get fonder the longer I carry it.

The washer idea isn't mine, but it is a great idea. I got it from someone on these boards.

The small candle gives me an idea. I have some of those trick birthday candles around here, the kind you can't blow out. One of those might be handy in there too. Thanks for the idea.

That is exactly the candle I use I just cut it in half to save a little room.

I have(until recently) overlooked the H.E.S.T... I can say, however, that after giving it some extra thought, that it does appear to be quite a good little EDC. More utilitarian and substantial than a folder, but not nearly as bulky as some larger fixed blades. I may have to give this one some serious thought. Could my collection use some company???

When my nephew fell in love with my Izula, I gave it to him and that was the impetus for me to get a HEST. It is one of the best small blades I have ever owned. Together with my RC-4 they make an unbeatable combo.

Thanks!

Aye, I agree. In South MS, a fishing kit can keep you fed. I live on the river, and rivers are everywhere in the area. I am also a mile or so from the Gulf of Mexico.

The handles will eventually contain stuff for fish and fire. Between those, the 12' of para-cord that make up the lanyard, and the blade, I should be okay for food, fire and able to construct shelter. Then all I need is clean water.

None too shabby for a little knife that I always have on me.
