My Hattin

After some restless nights of pondering when it may arrive, it's here. Hattin stonewash in plain edge. Feels pretty smooth for a double detent style, feels almost like the Tiger's single detent. Fit and finish is like anything they have made recently, excellent. G10 texture is like the current black G10 on the production models. Feels lighter than it looks. Closed detent is nice and crisp. Lockbar needs to break in a little. Overall a great model and size is not that big.

The ZT0620 and Patriot are my 2 EDC knives for the day. Figured it wouldn't hurt to have them both in the picture for size reference. The ZT0620's are OK to me. Simply just to have something different.

The size is quite slim in pocket like a 8 would be compared to a Commander for example. Kind of like a 11 profile but even narrower due to the blade's shape.

I got one of these today too. It is a sweet blade, my favorite Emerson in quite some time. It is a large knife but doesn't feel like it probably because it is not very wide. Even when folded it is not wide since the blade sits mostly below the scales. Handle is very similar to the Vindicator but this blade is just so wicked.

ETA: The 0620 is sweet.

Got mine in today as well. Although I was expecting a single detent, the action is very smooth!

Thank you SO MUCH, both bolded comments are exactly what I needed (to see the Hattin compared to something familiar, and that the knife's footprint is small in the pocket).

I thought I could live without one of these, but I'm not so sure about that now.

One question: How is the tip, compared to the Persian? I'm afraid to even use my Persian because I feel like the tip is destined to be broken off the first fall/slip/error.

MatthewSB, the tip is certainly stronger than the Persian and better than the Gentleman Jim by a little bit. Here is a picture of the 3 for reference.

^cool comparison pic!!! - i thought the blade of the persian would be a bit longer than the hattins?

PTAC has a touch more than 1/4" of cutting edge over the Hattin. The handle feels like the Vindicator vs the CQC-11. Come to think of it, it's the fattest/tallest handle to me compared to the mentioned 2 along with the Patriot and CQC-12.

Thanks for the pic of all three rayster. I've been looking at the Hattin and think I like it better than the PTAC. Specifically the wider blade and the fact that the handle is more in line. I sill like the PTAC though.

Thanks guys! I really like it a bunch. I highly recommend it to anyone seriously thinking of getting one. I'm not as fearful of damaging the blade's tip on this compared to the CQC-13 I had as well.

Thank you so much for the comparison photo.

I waited so long to get my hands on a Persian, but the grip isn't "just right". I really dig the blade style, I'm hoping the Hattin fits my hand like I think it will.

One last question - the Hattin looks to have a slightly longer grip than the Patriot, is that correct?

Edited to Add:

Any chance of a pic' of the Hattin, closed, next to a CQC-8 or the ZT 0620 or whatever else you have nearby?
