Man, I really appreciate those pics. I'd been envisioning that same butt grind myself, and your execution of it proves to me it's a good idea. Now you can use the heel of your hand to apply enough "whump" to get the point started, to do things like opening a tin can, etc. Those dang "skull crusher" points are hell on your hand, and I don't know anyone's skull that would stand up to being whacked with the remaining piece of exposed tang on that knife. As far as I'm concerned, you've lost nothing and gained some very significant utility.

Thanks, I've never been a big fan of the extra skull crusher type points on knives. They just seem to end up poking me in the ribs. ;)
