My hest sheath be broken!

Ok so i got a new hest xmas day and i got it out to play with and it just fell out of the sheath and almost stuck in my foot lol. I looked at the sheath and it just didnt look right to me so i asked around and was told its not normal. I cant use the lower hole with the screw because it wont get tight but if i use the upper hole its way too tight even with the screw very loose. Here is a pic. Im not sure what to do. Send it back just for a sheath or idk.. Ps junk phone pic.

Yea sure. Nothin is wrong with the knife i love it! Its just the sheath.
 
I would still want to see the knife also. Drop me an email with your mailing address. I will have Patricia get a new HEST order in. Will be after the first of the year before it ships though. Meantime, we want to see the one you currently have (will just swap with you) since this is not right for a brand new knife.
 
Got your emails. Will email you in the morning on getting you a new HEST and sheath out and also give you an address we want the one you have shipped to. Not sure what's going on with it since it shouldn't be that way new. Will check it out and post up here what we find. Sorry for the trouble.
 
Got to love a manufacturer that responds like this. 49 minutes between the initial post and the response from the owner of the company. That is incredible!
 
Kk awsome ty! yea i didnt know anything was wrong for the first day so i kept havin to yank it out of the sheath haha cank wait for my new one so i can play with it!

PS, gonna get a HEST after the first of the year, been thinking about it for a while, and I need to beef up my knife count, gots things to do next year.
 
my HEST sheath also doesn't feel very tight with the screw in the default position, and the same, if i move the screw up, the retention is way to good
anyway, I can live with this, and as I've read in a similar thread, a rubber washer can be put between the sheath and the screw, at the first hole, to adjust the high retention
..or, get a leather sheath

I agree jacktrades. I'm thinking all that's wrong is it needs the screw in the top hole without be tightened down too hard.
 
I got your HEST knife back. I agree, the sheath was loose, but all it needed was the one top sheath screw moved to the top hole of the sheath (the screw located on the "edge" side of the sheath). You must have been trying to move both top sheath screws, thus making it way too tight. I am going to be sending your knife back tomorrow via USPS Priority.
