I used to visit the various knife forums, particularly the for sale sections, several times per day looking for my next acquisition. I also had to frequently check the general discussion and testing/evaluation areas. Since acquiring my modest collection of Sebenzas (three woodies and a unique graphic) I rarely check these areas. Since I don't collect but use my knives, I have all I need. Other than a Mnandi, which I found too small for my large mitts, the only non-Sebenza purchase I've made in the last six months is a Buck Mayo TNT that I've yet to carry or use since I can't bring myself to leave the house without a Sebenza. I'M RUINED! (spoiled)

I can relate to everything you are saying. My Sebenza, Mnandi and Umfaan have raised the "knife bar" to such a high level that every other knife pales in comparison. That's the down side. The upside is that these knives can and do meet 99% of all the knife needs I'll ever encounter. I'll still buy a knife or two here and there (still need to get a large Sebbie). But otherwise I'm content in the fact that I have what I need. That's actually not a bad place to be when you think about it. ;) ;)

Rarely do I even look at "Production Knives for Sale" unless I'm looking for CRK's.

CRK's are generally either loved or hated in my observation. Not much middle ground as I've noticed. And the hate POV always seems to stem from a "sweet lemons, sour grapes" perspective. Antagonists tend to pick on price, asthetics, and lastly ergos. Can't buy into the ergos or price arguments, as I've toted a lot less-expensive and more comfortable pieces that were not nearly as well built and gave me some kinda trouble in the end.

Like many, I am forced to think back on the multitude of folders I carried on the road to discovery. Just realizing how much I've saved on folders in the past three years is adequate testament to me in regard to the Seb's value.

To each their own, however, as I've been as die-hard a fan and user of other production brands as I am now of CRK.

Professor.

Yeah Guys, although very happy with my Sebenzas, I miss the searching, buying, selling and trading in the quest to find the perfect EDC. And yes, I have saved money by buying Sebenzas in lieu of the multitude of Spydercos, Benchmades etc. etc. I think the only knife I regret selling is the small Pheasant Tail I bought from you, Professor. But the proceeds of the sale went toward my first woody, a large Curly Maple. The only other knife I'm thinking about now is a BM 750 soley for the purpose of trying my hand at giving it the Mayo treatment. (I've got a drill press and a blast cabinet)

All good points guys. I remember the days when i used to search the web for the perfect knife, only to be let down when i got home and started looking at it ...finding burrs and such...then looking on the net again to find another perfect edc.
