Hi Guys, I finally made some progress on my holy grail integral folders. After 4 years on the waiting list, I finally received my Michael Raymond Starlit - double thumblug, prototype 1 of 2. Michael Raymond was really accommodating. I wanted a double thumblug Starlit which is not an option offered. I was going to settle on the bigger Galaxis to get the double Thumblug, but, Michael then offered me the first double thumblug Starlit. You can see the engraving under the pocket clip (M. Raymond Prototype 1/2). The Pictures show it next to my Scott Cook Lochsa (which I bought on this forum, thanks Blade Forums !) and my Marfione Anax with the original Rat tail. The Steel is M390 (Starlit), S90v (Lochsa), Elmax (Anax). The craftsmanship and precision are fantastic in all three knives, but, after receiving the Starlit, I think Michael Raymond is really getting into watchmaker precision territory (ie. his pocket clip is fantastic, new bigger thumblug, etc...). I am really liking the Starlit, it is very light compared to the other two -- Nothing like the thunderous click of an integral... Enjoy the pics !

Wow, powerful elegance in that design. Love it. Congrats, and thanks for posting!

Very nice! Can you tell me what the connection between Lochsa and Raymond is? They look like very similar (but awesome) knives.

It's definitely a beauty. The size looks perfect for carry, and the blade has a whole lot of belly. That should cut like a razor. Seems like your patience really paid off!

I am not an expert, but, my understanding is that Scott Cook was one of Chris Reeves top guys and Michael Raymond was one of Scott Cook's top guys... So, I guess they all grew up together in knifemaking...

Notable differences -- Michael Raymond's knives round off the bottom of the handle reducing weight and size, but, sacrificing the leather lanyard hole, or rat tail screw, etc.... Scott Cook's Lochsa has a contoured slabs for the handle, while Michael Raymond knives are flat slided. Micchael Raymond knives have bigger thumblugs, but, it does not make a difference because Scott Cook's Lochsa is one of the easiest knife to flip open.

Great trio. I have a Galaxis, and it’s one of the finest, most precisely fit Knives I’ve seen.

And you’re right, the sounds it makes are like nothing else. :)
