  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

My home made micarta scales (pic)

I used an old pair of grey cargo pants and a red t-shirt. Two 2x6's ,two c-clamps, wax paper and some clear glass reson.
Worked pretty good

I am going to be doing some Micarta this summer. I've got a bunch of old jeans, and think that would work great.

Looks good man :).

Nice work. They don't look quite as contoured compared to the Kabar stuff but I'm sure they work just fine. Don't get me wrong, I'd be very happy with that if I made a pair, let alone your first try.

I like that color combo too. Looks really cool.

Very nice. Test puts my first few (and only) attempts to shame. I like that you basically built in the liner.

They look good Hunter. Look like they would feel good. Something I've been thinking about doing.

They are to me. I made them a little thinner but other than than they feel about the same. The only thing I don't like about them is I can't use them with a kydex sheath unless the sheath was made specific for them. Mastering kydex sheath making will be my next project.

Nice!!

Do the kydex thing. You'll be squeezing everything. You can get anywhere from 2-6 sheaths from a 12" square of kydex. Set up a press and start squeezing.

Great!
Good work!

I made a kydex press using plywood and a cheap sleeping bag pad for the foam, you know those blue bed rolls? Put on the foam with spray on adhesive complete with three gate hinges and some C-clamps. I played around a little but I still have a lot to learn.
