Well I am posting this mostly so you guys can have a good laugh at me. I look pretty silly IMHO but hey who cares right? I sure do love my pony:D. I have had him since he was a couple months old. He is a draft cross. His sire was belgun and his dam was a morgan arab cross. He is very much a one of a kind horse. His name is Lord and if you ever get the chance to meet him youll see why.

The last pic is my wife Mary on her horse Brian. We rescued Brian last summer. He was at least 300 pounds under weight when we got him:eek:

Its allot of work getting a horse back into shape after that kind of treatment.
Things are getting kinda out of hand with the bottem end of the horse market. We see cases like Brian a couple of times a month. Its hard sometimes saying no to all the free horses that need homes but we can only do so much.

Work work work but it does keep my wife happy (most of the time)

A great looking horse he is too. (Wife's horse is not a bad looking boy either.)

I notice you're using Australian stock saddles, good choice. :)

Here is a pic of my old boy, 75% Arab 25% Quarter horse cross. He's around 25 now, had him since he was four. One of the best horses I've come across, and I've been around a few.

Thats a good looking horse you got there yourself sir.

Yep those Australian sadles are great! They are very secure with a deep seat, and very comfy too.

Also I will pass the compliment on to my horse.

You won't find a stockman out here using anything else. Perfect for the sort of stock work we do here.

Also good if you're planning on doing any of this sort of stuff. :)

I cant think of the name of the movie but I recognize that still.

Well I dont do any extreme riding but its nice to have the security when something comes up. Lots of folks around here use them or at least a variation for trail and endurance riding. I have a couple of western saddles too but never use them.

My dad used something called a bear trap when he was young and breaking lots of horses. Its kinda like a cross between an Australian stock, a western and a tank.

Oh and thanks for the compliment on my work.

I cant think of the name of the movie but I recognize that still.

Man From Snowy River. I live just a little north of the river, ridden through it a few times and spent a bit of time on horseback up in the Snowy Mountains.

The movie was VERY loosely based on a poem of the same name by Banjo Paterson, a very famous Oz poet and story teller. He grew up on a sheep station not far from me and quite a few of his tales are about or located in and around these parts.

I'm sure all of that will come in very handy at your next trivia night. :D

Good lookin horses Will. I find it funny you guys are talking about that movie. I actually picked up a copy of it last night at Wal-Mart (they had it in the $5 bin). It was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I even had my family mail a copy of it to me while on my first deployment.

Will, got the message of my knife being shipped out today. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on it. Hopefully it will get here before I go home for the weekend, but if it doesn't I'll get it when I return next week.

I love horses and burros and such but I can't stand people riding em!!! :D
I know, it's dumb but it's just the way I am!
It must be grand to be able to own a horse and have em for a pal!!!

Hi Bill,
How many hands high is your Horse?
He's a Good looking Horse!!!

He is right around 15 hands.

My last horse was a big 16.1 standerd bred mare. She was Amish trained. You could tell riding her that she was used to the cart by the way she took corners. We sold her when we were buying our house. I still miss her.
The thing is though its allot easier getting on a 15 hand horse than a 16.1 hand horse. There isnt as far to fall either.;)

Thanks

I know what you mean about the horse market. We used to do pretty good buying and selling the ocassional horse but now its not worth the time or the money you have to spend to get them looking like something. After all the killer plants closed the market is crap and the negleted or lame horses have no place to go.
My reigning horse when he was a 2 y/o.
