You've come a long way, baby.

Insert other favorite saying.

As many of you read, I was away from the forums for quite some time. I've been home from overseas for 3 years now but am still sorting out stuff from what my ex left me in storage or provides me with periodically. "Hey! I found another box of your stuff if you want it." If she would only return my AR15. But I digress....

This weekend I was rummaging through some boxen of mine and found this blast from the past.

The last time I remember wearing this was around 2000. Does anyone else still have theirs?

Never got the shirt, but remember the year. I recall reaching the 2000 member mark and the race to get there. Wish I had been able to afford one of the Bladeforums' Natives. $100 was a steel.

I gave my blue Native away. :grumpy:

My neighbor, wonderful gal who had crap choice in men, had an ex-husband in prison. When he got out he wanted to reconcile with his ex and kids. My neighbor asked me to befriend him since he wasn't from the area. He seemed like a nice enough fellow and gave the old "I'm a new man" song and dance for a while. A few months later at supper he was admiring my Al-Mar Eagle and mentioned that he needed to buy a good knife because his crappy knife just wasn't cutting it (no pun intended) on his construction job. He asked if the Eagle was a good knife. I told him yes, but I wouldn't use it in construction. He asked what I would use. I showed him my collection and he LOVED the Native. The next day I gave him the Native with a note "To new beginnings." He balked because he knew that it was worth and that it was a limited edition. (I just told him the day before!) I insisted he take it.

Within a month he was found passed out under a bridge with a bottle of booze in one hand and a needle hanging out of his other arm. Parole violated, he went back to prison.

^ Dang!

Anyways, welcome back. Always nice to hear the "vets" coming back. I lurked since '99 before finally joining in as well and I also remember that shirt.

Normally I don't "advertise" that I'm a knife/gun/car/<insert politically incorrect hobby here>, but I would sport a bladeforums shirt. I'm very much not a patch guy, I really don't have anything to put patches on, but alas, that's all that's available now =(

What am I offered on the shirt? Hey...bidder, bidder... c'mon gimmie a bid now....

;)

Hold a giveaway for the shirt. You don't need it -- you're gonna play naked anyway!

Great idea!

Hobbyist, send your address and I'll get the shirt in the mail!

I know this isn't the way giveaways are done, but I would feel bad about not letting you have it now that I decided to give it away.

I hope you get your AR-15 back.
