Hi guys, I've seen a lot of people post pictures of what they got, and I figured I should share with you all what were essentially the consequences of joining Bladeforums.

Besides this I got a Benchmade Bone Collector and ESEE AH-1 coming next week, and a short wish list with one high end folder CRK/hinderer, one or two particular spydercos, a hinderer pen, ESEE something, and one custom. That will literally cover all my bases.

Anyway without further stalling here is all I got:

I got the dragonlord back in '97, its a display only thing but still kinda cool. the kershaw splinter was my first nice brand knife. got it at big 5 for $15 7 or 8 years ago. The sanremu, plastic trainers and kershaw vapor (as well as little chive not pictured here because I gave it to my little sister.) Were all gifts from wonderful BF community. The 5.11 is going to be heavily modded soon. I EDC CQC-10 and Kershaw OD-1 latley.

The only things that are missing are bunch of Chinese crap I'll be ussing for shapening practice, buck deuce which i can't find, and my sword with a wooden handle and scabbard, has some nice woodwork on it, I just forgot to take pictures.

Hope you guys enjoy the pictures even though I suck at taking them, I can also give any feedback on any of the knives pictured.

Sweet collection. Looks really personal....like you've really bought what suits you not just the latest to hit the street. There's something there for every occasion.
My son has a couple of those 'fantasy' knives...catch myself admiring them every now and then....would love one in S30V.

You will "literally have all of your bases covered"....yeah right...I've been telling myself that for a few years now. I keep discovering more bases to cover! Nice collection.

Hi Volk -

Very impressive collection.

One can see the progression of your interests and tastes by reading the knives in your collection.

I think your pictures are just fine - thanks for posting them!

best regards -

Thanks for kind words.

Resist: The CBK is probavly one of my favorite self defense knives, I've got I think right when it came out. But it hasn't gotten much carry time in the last few years, my world has got a little safer.

Lazydog: A friend of mine few years back grabbed the knife without me knowing. He figured it was a dull display. Anyway he still owes me a new leather chair. I'm not sure I'd use that fantasy blade, but I think the design still looks great on a table or shelf. I know wouldn't buy a second one now, but I'm not going to try and sell this one off.

TONY: ....I will resist the temptation...Right after I get everything on my wish list...oh and maybe one more Busse...or two...This place isn't really good for self control.

Onc eagain thanks every one its been and still is a wild ride on these forums, I have traded sooo much here, and got lots of valuable knowledge over the ears. Keep 'em sharp.

Nice. You need some spydercos though.

I had, a CF military in s30v, it s a great knife. The grip just wan't for me. Well actualy I wouldn't mind owning one, but not as primary EDC, I traded it for my CQC-10, its less impressive, but fits my hand much better then any other folder out there. In my wish list there is however spyderco p'kal (this is my favorite hold) and spyderco tim zowada.

nice collection! nice big pictures! :)

Thanks m8, you comader was a welcome addition, autos a re illigal to carry here, but i seriously want to carry this one.

Nice set Volk!

I'm not too sold on the uppermost fixed blade, but then again I like tube amplifiers and I hate mayo--in other words, opinions and preferences are like elbows, most everybody has more than one.:D

A question:

I just picked up a ZT 0650ST. From the looks of the Emerson/Kershaw knife they seem to share the G/G/Hawk "Crossbolt?" action.

What's your experience--good, bad, the other--been with it so far?

Edited to add: I wouldn't call that humble at all. Nice spread!

Best,

heekma

Volk, what is the smallest folder in the pic? Looks interesting.

Its a Sanrenmu, I can't tell you what is the exact model is because it was a gift from a member here. I like the design, and the size of it. I know these guys make knock offs, so I too would like to know what was the original model.

THe fantasy blade was purchased many years ago, I almost didn't include it in the shoot, but then I figured why not, I have it, and it has been sitting on the shelf with cool gadgets for years now, so I'm not ashamed of it. But I know exactly how useful something like that is.

As long as my experience goes, it has been short at best. We are not allowed to carry autos here, so it sits and waits, I traded it for a knife which wasn't as comfortable in my hand and wasn't getting used either. From what I have had a chance to deal with it is a good knife, and my biggest issue is me wanting to EDC it.

On a personal note I like the way it works, with a slide instead of a push and a safety system. It is my newest folder so far, so I can' be of much help yet. I can say that if fires slower then some of my assisted opening knives, but it feels very solid. I also like the traditional grind and s30v steel on a commander. I would gladly edc it, if I could do so legally.

Once again thanks, I call it humble because there is't a huge number of blades there, but I finally feel like I have every base covered.

Great start! Get some customs started!

Great start! Get some customs started!

Thanks, I have been frequenting that forum lately...all I can say is...well I can't really afford them yet. I mean I can, but since I have most of the things covered, with my Busses, I can't really justify getting another one in the same niche. (however there is one desighn I don't have covered and I have plans for when I get the cash to get it custom made)

How do you like the folder from 5.11 Tactical?

The first responder is great knife, way overbuilt, just the way I like it. I wouldn't call it a tactical folder, but rather an urban/utilitarian one. Every feature of the knife is well thought out and has it purpose from the finger choil to a very long handle.

I can see this being used by anyone who isn't going to be cooking with a knife. Its very sturdy and and can do everything you can ask from a knife in an emergency situation, and it can do it well. No shortcuts were taken, except maybe taking production to Taiwan, in order to make it more affordable. The reason its not great for cooking (I have used it to slice up some veggies) is the thickness of the blade and the serrations. But each of those features is useful. Even the butt plate in the knife gets used to open beer bottles.

For someone who is looking for a big emergency tool this will be a great knife. Personally I have a few issues with a knife, but it has soo much material everywhere, that it can be moded into pretty much anything, and thats what I'm going to do.

My main criticisms of the knife is the finger hole, and the clip. I may even prefer finger holes, however if you look at my CQC-10 and then at the 5.11 the hole is much smaller. The blade is thick and the action isn't the smoothest out there, so I personally think its not comfortable. The clip, is fine when it comes to pocket carry, and I have EDC'd this few times. But in hand its obtrusive, and I feel like it bites into my hand to much.

Due to its size it is not going to be my edc, while the blade length is fine the handle is just too long. I don't wear gloves often (even if i did that small finger opening hole would have been a real pin) so the long handle is too big for my medium size hand. I have decided to make it my primary camping folder. So I have few pans to mod it. I have actually asked someone from here to help me out with what I need and I'm waiting for an estimate. I'll be sure to post what I do with the blade. But I will get rid of the serrations (this is now where I like them on my knives) and I will remove the finger choil, in order to have a longer edge.
