My (humble) knife collection

The top one is a Camillus CQB1. It is designed by Robert Terzuola. It is one of my favorites too. :D

The Gerber River Shorty is a great little knife to strap on a daypack.

Very nice collection you have there. I recall seeing the second one down somewhere.. in a movie perhaps...It looks pretty unique.

Robertmegar,
Nice set of knives. How do you like that SOG? I'e been thinking of picking one up, but haven't handled one in person. Well-built? Worth the money?

wwells20,
The top knife, as mentioned, is the Camillus CQB. It appears to be the larger 6" model. It's one of the sharpest factory edges I've ever bought. The rough micarta handle feels very slip-resistant and tough. Definitely pick one up if the style appeals to you. Too bad you missed out; Sportsman's Guide had them on closeout for $30 a while back. They sold out very quickly.

Best Wishes,
Bob

For the record, the version that Sportsman's Guide had was the CQB Black Ops version, which uses carbon steel (the same in the Becker line, I can't recall the name) and has a black blade, not the uber-cool 154CM (IIRC) version that is displayed in Robert's pic.... So it was still a great deal (I bought one and love it) but not CRAZY like the 154CM version would have been.

Thanks for the info and clarifying my not-entirely-accurate post. I didn't dig mine out to compare to the knife in the photo at the time.

OK, went to get it, and there are some minor differences. The handle shape and material appears to be identical. The top rear of the blade is slightly different. His micarta is gray, while mine is green. And yep, mine has a black coated blade.

Honestly, I prefer robertmegar's knife to mine. I doubt I would notice the difference in blade steel, but I do like the non-coated blade and the gray handle better. One thing I prefer on mine: my blade is marked with deep stampings, while robertmegar's appears to be an etching.

Question: what's the knife in the top right? The only one with wood handles?

I was able to snag one from Sportsman's Guide before they sold out. It's a cool knife. Wouldn't the carbon steel be tougher than the 154CM? Like if you were to pry something with it, baton wood with it, etc. Where's Cliff? :)

I definitely agree with you on preferring the look of the 154CM version... It's seems more refined. I might be wrong, since I don't have mine out to compare, but I think the tang cutouts in the handle are smaller and more numerous.
