My Humble RAT (ESEE) Family

First member was an RC-5. Wowza. Big, heavy and built like a tank. It stays in the vehicle in case I need to chop my way out some day.

Second is the H.E.S.T. or, now due to my little modification, it is a B.E.S.T. (Beercap Extraction Survival Tool) and is my EDC.

Third is my IZULA. At the time of the photo, it was about 10 minutes old. Since the photo, it has been potty trained and I've added a Paracord wrap.

Thought I'd take advantage of one of the 38 sunny days a year we get here in Upstate, NY.

Looks like we are following the same lines.
Got my RC5 first,in the process of buying a HEST right now and will be getting a Izula soon.

Yea depending on how my Hest handles I will probably go Izula. It depends on how well I take to EDCing it
 
So how do you like the HEST compared to the izula? Which do you think will get carried more? There are voices in my head debating whether to get one or not.
 
Well, I got my IZULA today and while at Opera, I kid you not, I sat there and did a double twist 360 Strider wrap on it. Turned out great. I also used the Paracord supplied with the knife to hang it around my neck. So, I have the H.E.S.T. on my hip, the IZULA around my neck. Just in case the fat lady gets out of control. Actually, my daughter is in the childrens chorus for Tosca (by Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini). I was just there for the rehearsal.

Ah, but for opening night, I'll just have my IZULA around my neck, under my shirt of course.

So, long story short, my choice for an EDC at this point is really both. I'm sure I'll pare it down later, or not. But, if I had to just have one, it would be the H.E.S.T.
 
Nice set you've got there TAG. I love the Izula so much for EDCing that I've decided to get another for my bag as a spare. Maybe in a different color.
 
Whoever said that these RAT/ESEE knives multiply like crazy wasn’t kidding. I thought that I would be perfectly content with my Izula and RC4, but now I’m starting to want a HEST! Does this addiction ever end?
