My humble start with Barlows

I recently decided to pull the trigger on starting my Barlow collection.

It always appealed to me as a knife with a great blade profile and the overall size of them is about perfect for everyday pocket carry I have realized. Most of my collection has consisted of CRKs, Spydercos, and some smaller traditionals like my peanuts. I'm glad I took the plunge into Barlows as I am really liking this pattern.

Started with the TC red soup bone that I was lucky enough to buy from a member here, and now I found a Russell Barlow 1975 Commerative #285 in great shape.

Sorry the pics aren't great but that's not my forte. :)

To quote an old movie, "I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship".

Looking good! Barlows are addictive; as you said the perfect size for carry.

You have two beauties there. I just got my first TC and it is a red soup bone, too. Barlows are like Lay's potato chips, be careful.

Good looking start to barlows. Make sure to enjoy all the different sizes, 15's, 25's &77's :D

Here are a some Barlow's you might consider adding to your collection.
A Queen 1972 Drake Well and a Colonial Old Cutler. Also pictured are two Queens with aluminum frames.

Also....no Barlow collection is complete without an Imperial and a Colonial, both with plastic handles.

You're off to a great start! This is my favorite pattern (and my wallet's least favorite...), and I always love seeing Barlows.

Funnily enough, I just received a Russell commemorative Barlow the other day. It's a neat knife.

Nice barlows! Might as well just post in the Barlow thread from here on out. I'll modify bdev's comment to "no Barlow collection is complete...ever!":D

You are starting your illness with two very nice Barlows. From the looks of the wooden box , it appears that you have latched onto an earlier one of the 1975 Commemorative Russell Barlows. Well done . Would you mind telling us the number on the back of the main blade tang. That would be the Serial Number. And may you be very lucky in trying cure your new illness.

Hang On.
You started with a TC red soup and you think That's humble?
