Well I have been carrying around one of my first blades for a while. I made it when I was first starting out and I have been carrying it ever since, I just hate to let a good blade sit around. Well I was recently asked by my pastor why I would carry such a mediocre knife when I was making thing that looked ten times better. I replied "its a perfectly good blade even if it is ugly" , said that may not be good for business when I talk to people on the street. He made I good point, so I decided instead of make a new knife I would redo my old knife. I spent Sunday working on the knife, and now I not only have the first EDC I made but now it looks good too. In fact the knife holds even more value to me be cause the handles and made from Micarta that my Grandfather left when he died.

Thanks for looking, I hope you like the improvement. -Josiah.

Before, Bear in mind that the finish and come off and the handles were dicolored and the blade I think had a 100 grit hand sanded finish, before I knew to use WD40. So it was pretty ugly.

Hey, that's a great looking job! Good job on the re-grind. It looks much more professional now.

BTW, it's hard to tell from the pictures, but if you have any issues fitting up the scales to the edges of the tang, something I've done that helps is to use the contact wheel of my grinder to finish off the edges and flush the tang with the handle scales. If the contact wheel on the grinder is too big, a dremel with a sanding drum works well, too. The reason I mention this is that in the swell of the handle, there appears to be some protrusion of the tang past the handle scales. From the angle of the pics, it may just be that there is a swell to the tang were it was rounded off in handle shaping, I'm not sure. Not a critique at all, just a tip.

It looks like its sticking out because I round the handles and the tang. so the tang is a little domed on the top and bottom, I find it just fits in the hand better.
