Heh, my hackerlust knows no bounds....

i got my first order from NGK, their last blue Dodo SE, and it came with a rather nice little band-aid holder box, amusing little idea, that....

there was one problem with it, the magnet on the back was too wussy to hold on my metal desk drawer, i soon fixed that, after all, i'm a Macintosh repair tech with a pile of neomydium latch magnets i removed from dead iBook latch release buttons, and a bottle of SuperGlue....

i took my CCC balisong and used it to scrape off the original magnet (which is still intact and can be used for other projects), then put a couple drops of superglue on either end of the holder, and dropped on the neomydium magnets, let the glue dry, then stuck it to my desk drawer....

it snapped on with a satisfying "click" and refused all but my most extreme efforts to remove it, i now have to slide the holder off the side of the drawer to remove it, or pull really hard to release it, nothing short of an earthquake will dislodge the holder now, the old magnet would release if you looked at it funny...

not bad for a 30 second hack job....

That magnet is the one drawback to the free NGK bandaids. I'd used some old refrigerator magnets on 2 of mine, but I've still got another 10 lying around my bedroom. Not that I order much from NGK or anything...

It rains NGK Band-Aid dispensers when I slam my freezer door.:D

.

I get the same thing. :D

The guys at work also think it's funny that I have like 5 dispensers on the front of my desk drawers at work.

I usually give them away to family and friends and usually get the:"Oh, they are so nice, where did you get them....and what do they mean by 'you gonna need'em'..." :D.
