My grandmother gave me her fathers knife the other day after I showed her the knife I carry daily (Al Mar Sere 2000).

The knife my great grandfather used to carry daily was a Mklein & Sons Knife made in Chicago. The knife features a large blade and a flat head screw driver which locks into place. The screw driver is also sharpened along the length of it.

If anyone else would like to shed light on this knife that would be great?

The pattern is called an "Electrician's Knife"

I can't help much on the mark, other than seeing a few of them on the auction site.

Very cool to have something of his!

That´s a nice TL-29 pattern. It´s an electrician´s knife. The knife seems to be in well used, but not an abused condition. Congratz on that treasure from your great-grandfather :)

There were many cutleries that made this pattern in the past like Camillus, PAL, Case, Imperial etc etc...

I think Utica makes or contracts the Klein knives. Sorry if I'm disproven above, but I haven't read all the links.

Klein is a manufacturer of Electrician's tools. Biggest one there is. Top of the line stuff. They have been THE source for electrician's tools for over a hundred years. But they don't make knives. They buy them under contract from various manufacturers.

I am unaware of any way of either dating the knife or determining which manufacturer made it for Klein. The topic comes up every once in a while.
