Have had it for four days now, and am I glad I got this knife(small). I almost decided not to get it because I already have a large and small Regular and reasoned (What do I need another "work" knife for?). However my liking for Wharncliffe won out.
Glad #1. The handle shape of the Classic, I really like, plain and simple, but feels great in hand.
Glad #2. The Wharncliffe blade is beautifully done, it's different than any I've seen. The swedge just pulls it together, it's perfectly ground. That swedge lets the skill of the makers show.
Yes, it cuts well, the edge is ground to the same thickness from the start to
tip. One thing I require with my small knives, that they are good apple slicers, and the Insingo is. I cut with it till it started dulling a little then polished the edge on my cardboard wheel and it's right back.
The finish on my Insingo shines more than my others, darn if they may bring the finish to a near polish before they stonewash.
Very little break in involved here, came out of the box smooth and low drag.
The perforeted washers I wonder, do this? It was easy to open and unlock. I recall more work with my others.
Check the swedge.
With other worked hard frends.
Look at the attention to detail at the screw heads.
