My introduction to Buck Knives

I'm not a hunter, I grew up in the city, never had a knife handed down to me. In fact, just three years ago I owned one knife, a USMC Ka-Bar I would take backpacking. I now own a small collection of Buck Knives and it has become a bit of an obsession.
Two and a half years ago I took a trip to Spokane with my brother (about a 5 hour drive) so he could look at a property. We ended up in a hotel in Post Falls, ID about 20 minutes from Spokane. Being I had a day to kill I Googled "things to do in Post Falls" and the Buck Knives factory popped up. I had heard the name and just thought it would be interesting to check it out.
I was too late to get a tour of the factory but was shown to the small museum upstairs where I learned about the history of Buck Knives and saw some early examples. I then went to the store downstairs and bought a Reaper for my oldest son and a hat as a souvenir. On I went.
I have now made the journey to Post Falls from Tacoma, WA three times and have made plans to return every year as long as I am within driving distance. My collection below is mostly from my three previous trips, with one custom for my 40th birthday.
I caught the bug in a roundabout way and now it's my hobby! I'm curious how you may have caught the bug and ended up on this forum as a result?

Hi Brownwm, I recieved a custom 112 from my wife as a Christmas gift a few years ago, I found this forum while trying to find out who did the work on the knife.

Still don't know but I've got lots more Bucks now.

Very nice starter collection. You picked nice knives. Does that Matt Would Go have brown scales?

What a fun post!
Thank you! I signed up for this forum in January but this is the first time I've used it in any way. I could think of no other way to introduce myself.

I can't tell you how my problem started but the only relief is another knife. There are worse problems I guess. Good luck, it looks like you have a good start. I only have about 45 buck knives and 20 or so other brands so I guess I'm not as far gone as sassafras.

Does the Buck store have a web site?? I imagine you just have to go and it's kind of if they got it buy it type deal? Here in the socialist republic of Cal. my city has 4 super center's and between them they have about 3 different models of Buck knives, just pitiful, and 1 of each.

Brownwn welcome to this great place form the mountains of Washington. You have an awesome looking collection. If you are into the BUCK Knives might I suggest you look up the Buck Collectors Club. I got into Bucks knives in the 70’s and the Buck 110 was the top knife that was carried in the construction and logging. The product, the service has led me to the addiction of Buck Knives. As m r merrill said "the only relief is another knife" Buck knife for me and another.

Did you see the thread about BCCI needing help with Buck info? They're updating their Model info area and need some help with documentation. Do what you can, it is a great place for everyone to be involved in especially the newsletters, I agree with you that Brownwn would benefit, an e-membership might be 10 bones for 4 seasons.

I'm all signed up for the Buck Collectors Club as of yesterday due to seeing something about it on this forum. Thank you gentlemen!

Great story Brownwm. You ended up in a hotel in Post Falls, ID and had to Google "things to do in Post Falls". HA! Little did you know you were so close to what many Buck fanatics consider a once in a life time visit, especially for those on the east coast. I can't think of a better start!

My start began as a child envious of my fathers little Buck 305. Growing up, we gifted each other many Buck knives. Now I gift myself probably way to many Buck knives.

I found this site by doing a random Google search for BUCK and KOA wood. I found pictures here and wanted to see more, so I joined.
