Nice....are you going to wrap the handle with paracord?

I have some orange paracord on the way to me right now that i'm going to use to wrap it. I have tons of black paracord but black on black is boring. I also have the micarta handle slabs on their way to me. I'll decide what i like better.

We are approaching 8000 of these made in a little over a year. This is probably the neatest little knfie to come along in a long while. The name is catchy too!

I agree. For some reason I just keep coming back to the Izula as one of my favorite knives.

I have some green narrow diameter cord so i'm wrapping it with that until my primary choice arrives:

congrats on pumping out number 8000. I can't wait for the folder version to be released as well.

I got the micarta handles and convexed the edge to a mirror finish on mine.. by far it is one of my favorite edc's

What did you use to convex the edge? I'm not very experienced at sharpening but i'm pretty good with my sharpmaker.

I used the mouse pad and sandpaper technique then stropped it to shaving sharp.. it turned out great, i was hesitant on doing it on my other knives so i used the izula as a test knife since i could just buy another one if it didn't work out but i came out perfect.... how do you like the sharpmaker? I'm actually looking into buying a sharpmaker after seeing some pics of the quality edges it produces!!!

Nice knife....nice light too!

BTW what is the original factory angle the edge was sharpened at?

I love the sharpmaker. the fact that it keeps the angle for you and all you have to do is follow the curve of the blade makes things incredibly easy. at some point i'd like to get the super fine rods and the diamond rods for it. I've practiced on it a fair amount with one of my less expensive knives. i also killed the edge on my leatherman squirt's blade because i have no idea how to sharpen a chisel grind. it's the best sharpener i could have possibly bought because it's so easy to use. after i learn more about sharpening i'll look into getting a lansky but for now the sharpmaker is perfect.

I should look into getting a strop or making one.

Yeah I was watching some of the how to videos on youtube and it looks like it does a really good job.. I actually have a lansky and I like it but the clamp doesn't work very well on some of my blades as they keep slipping out...

I actually bought my strop from the dealer "cross-tie" on ebay for $15 he actually makes them and they are pretty decent quality.. you could prob make one for half the price but for me I think its a pretty good deal...as Id rather spend the time to sharpen my knives than to make a strop :p

8000 Izulas in a little over a year, WOW! It really is a great knife, I find myself using mine every single day for all kinds of tasks and it's never let me down.

White cord on a black Izula looks good too,not quite as flash but tasteful. And as my G/F says very non threatening(a definate plus).

My handle slabs and orange paracord both arrived today so i'm going best of both words for now. Threw together a quick box lanyard, my first lanyard btw, and gave my izula a tail.

The wrap can out awesome. Where did you find out how to make the wrap knots(I know there are a lot on youtube) but just for reference.

I just ordered a Izula too, so I want to wrap it, but after seeing them with the handle - I'm not so sure anymore, maybe I'll go that route.

Thanks for the pictures,

Mike

the knot i used on the toxic green wrap is one i figured out on my own. you basically just tie a noose with one of the loose ends and encase the other loose end in the noose wrap. if you have enough extra cord you can even make it an adjustable wrist strap. the two loose ends are tucked under the wrap so they won't come undone.
